Flip Squad

Remember the "heads, bodies and legs" flip books where a firefighter could wear a ballerina's tutu? Flip Squad is that childhood classic gone basketball: one player, sliced into strips, each strip shuffled into its own little booklet. Flip every strip back to the same player and the squad member snaps together.

Every strip is its own shuffled booklet and always starts on a wrong page — so the round opens with a gloriously mixed-up player wearing somebody else's everything.

Scoring: par, Sharp Eye and the Buzzer Beater

  • Completing the player banks 100 points per strip.
  • The Sharp Eye bonus rewards efficiency: it starts full and shrinks with every flip beyond par and with every peek.
  • The Buzzer Beater bonus ticks down with the seconds — there is no time limit, but speed pays.
  • Stars compare your flips (and peeks) to par: matching it is a three-star performance.

Coaching tips

  • Anchor on the jersey colors: the torso strip usually gives away the player fastest.
  • Solve one booklet fully before touching the next — hopping between strips burns flips.
  • The peek is a tool, not a defeat: for younger kids, one deliberate peek beats ten frustrated flips.

Quick answers

What is "par"?

Par is the smallest number of flips that could possibly solve the round, counted from wherever the booklets landed after shuffling. Your star rating compares your flips to that par — like golf, but with sneakers.

Why did the score drop after peeking?

The peek button shows the target player for one second — a fair helper for young players, but it costs a chunk of the Sharp Eye bonus. Confident players who solve without peeking keep the whole bonus.

How many different players can appear?

Rookie deals from 6 players, Pro from 15, and All-Star from the full roster of 30 — the more candidates, the harder it is to tell whose legs those really are.
